 Mr. Ilgar Rahimov, President

Mr. Rahimov was born on February 7, 1964. He worked at the Ministry of Finance in 1985-91, and between 1991-1993 hold various posts at the President’s Administration. Since 1993, he has been working at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection holding various senior leadership positions. He is the first deputy minister of labor and social protection since 1999. He was elected as the President of the National Paralympics Committee in 2000 at the founding Congress. He was head of the Azerbaijani delegation at the 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Paralympics Games.


 Mr. Natig Gasimov, First Vice-President

Mr. Gasimov was born on March 17, 1957. He graduated from the Azerbaijan Agriculture Institute and Institute of Economy. Between 1976 and 1981 has worked in several organizations. Since 1981 until 1992 has worked at the Aghdam District LKGI and the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Azerbaijan. Mr. Gasimov worked at the State Committee on Labor and Social Affairs (then transformed into the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection) between 1992-97. Between 1997-2012 he held senior positions with the UNDP in Azerbaijan, State Agency on Standards, Metrology and Patents and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. Mr. Gasimov was assigned as vice-president of the National Paralympics Committee on December 7, 2012 at the meeting of the Committee and he was elected the first-vise president of the Committee at the IV Congress on February 8, 2013. 


 Mr. Shaig Hamidov, Vice-President

Mr. Hamidov was born on October 19, 1951 in Mingachevir, Azerbaijan. He graduated from the Dashkand Russian Language and Literature Institute (Uzbekistan). He started his career in 1969 in Mingechevir, where he held various positions. Starting from 1983 until 1995, he held the positions of chairman of the Mingachevir City Council of the Spartak Sport Society; deputy director of Mingachevir city Car School, and head of department at the Mingechevir City Government. Between 1991 and 2006, he was the deputy head of the Minhachevir City Administration, director of the Mingechevir City Car School, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Republic KHVTIC RS. Between 2006 and 2013, he worked as the vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Paralympics Soccer Public Union, President of the Azerbaijan Disabled Football Federation and Executive Director of the National Paralympics Committee. On February 8, 2013 Mr. Hamidov was elected as the vice-president of the National Paralympics Committee at the IV Congress. He was the deputy head of delegation of Azerbaijan at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Paralympics Games.


 Mr. Afig Suleymanov, General Secretary

Mr. Suleymanov was on on July 10, 1954. After graduating from the ADBTIA in 1976, he worked at the Azerbaijan State Sport Committee as colsultant, state trainer and head of directorate. He then worked as head of department as Communist Party Rayon Committee, director of the Rabitachi sport team on hokkey (women), and as the first vice-president of the Association of the Disabled Peoples Physical Culture adn Sport. He was elected as the General Secretary of the National Paralympic Committee at the founding Congress in 1996. He was the deputy head of Azerbaijani delegation at teh 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Paralympic Games. Mr. Suleymanov was re-elected as the General Secretary on February 8, 2013 at the IV Congress of the Committee.
